BRRRRRRRRR!

Well, I sit here with a blanket around me, looking out to a snow-covered field, with a canal in front of it that is frozen solid.

I just looked....it's 5 below 0!!!!!!

Tomorrow will be my 3rd (!) time skating...this time, right out in front of the house on the canal. It is so beautiful...the sky is clear, but the days are cold. And the nights, well, brrrrrrr!!!! I bought an electric 'under blanket' that warms my bed before I get in it lol!

    Kathi,

    I swear you are living the ideal life. I love your descriptions and the sense of peace and adventure you seem to have. I love ice skating, too. I am at work in a grey government cubicle, so I have no view, but it is sleeting and icy here in DC, too. No skating for me, but hopefully a hot dinner and snuggling with my cats once I get home. Have a great time!

    Boy, I'd be frozen stiff. I think anything below 55 degrees is cold! I gave up skating when I was in my teens. Back then we'd go to the skating rink in town. We'd get hot chocolate and mix it with Coca Cola. I never said I had good taste.

    Thanks for the tip on leaving word open and using the spell checker on it. I didn't think of that!

    I'm from Michigan originally, I guess I don't mind the cold. It sounds fun to me!

    I'm from Indiana originally but live in Texas now. Guess I got accustomed to the heat.

    Growing up, I didn't leave Michigan until I was a teenager. Indiana seemed really exotic to me. I also remember thinking how beautiful and different Ohio was when I first passed through. Youth. Ignorance.

    One of my son's friends from another state came to visit us in Indiana and we were in the car and he said, "Isn't there anything other then corn and barns?"

    That sounds like fun Kathi. I used to send my husband in to bed first so that he would warm up my side. LOL Now, I welcome a cool bed. Hope you're having a good time.

    Ice Skating
    Wow are you brave! My Mum used to run a centre for juvenile delinquents and when ahe wasn't taking them out shopping (shoplifting) she took them skating for a change of scenery, first time out she fell and badly broke her wrist.... she told everyone she had done it skiing in St Moritz as it sounded more glamorous than Nottingham Ice Rink...lol

    Hi Tasha, I have been reading your postings. They are very humorous . You are lucky with the sense of humor you have.I admire your attitude. I was wondering how are you doing now? I just finished my radiation terapy two weeeks a go. I am still tired, but getting better.
