I have been depressed until today. My phone started ringing at 6:30AM my brother was calling to tell me to look outside. There was snow every where. Later, all of the kids in the neighborhood was out throwing snowballs at any one that came out and each other. Yes, there were also some grown-ups too. I was front and center we all really had a good time. This may not seem like much to some, but to us it was great.

    Snow here too
We got the same snow where I am in Texas. Melted by the next afternoon. It wasn't widespread so some people were driving their kids over from San Antonio to see it. It started here on Tuesday night (Dec. 9) about 11pm.

    Snow Day!!!!!
Yay for you!!! Isn't it amaing what contributes to a change of heart? I am in Central California's wine country, and I think it has snowed here once in 30 years or something! Not enough to make snowballs, I don' think~ but local businesses still have photograph's posted about that day! I imagine the locals were outside in wonderment and children were giggling and hoping school would be cancelled! :-)

Enjoy the snow, for however long it lasts~ it was an early holiday gift to lift your spirits.

    hugs,
    Claudia

    Snow days?
So Claudia, if it rains a lot and it turns out to be an abundant year for grapes, do you guys get a Wine Day?

I'm here in an area where we can get an occasional light snow, and there's a lot of wineries---maybe Merlot snow cones? Hey, maybe I've just come up with a new industry?

Will be glad to send anyone snow, it's lovely, but not to drive in---please provide the water proof container and it's yours.

The Days of Wine and Snowses!
Very clever, Jan~ yes, a new cottage industry springs up during a worldwide recession! Stimulate the economy AND drown our troubles!!! And speaking of Merlot; the movie "Sideways" was filmed where I live...hahaha Some businesses still have signage touting "as featured in Sideways". I never did see the movie, but it was quite the buzz a few seasons ago.

    Southern Exposure
I love living in the South. I lived in the North too long. If I start to miss the snow I put on a good 'snow' DVD. One of my favorites is Trapped In Paradise and Grumpy Old Men. After watching these I don't miss the snow one bit. I go outside without my coat and turn my face to the sun and think, "Thank you God."

    Snow Turn out The Lights
We were happy to see the snow, but, Our power went out and that wasn't any fun. Some people power went out on 12/11 and they still do not have any power today. We had over 8 inches of snow. Well the first five hours were fun.
