Hi Ladies.. Haven't posted in awhile because so much has been happening. I will recap for you...
Had my breast cancer surgery..a lumpectomy and 37 radiation treatments this past year. Surgery was in January, radiation ended in April. Had my followup mammo and all looked well. Was on Evista for awhile, but leg cramps were a huge issue, so went off it. Had my visit to the cancer doc today, and all is well with the breast beast...NED!!! Will do another mammo in February.
In the meantime, I went to the gyno. Found a cyst on left ovary. Tried to do the robot Da Vinci but cyst had attached to abdominal wall, so had abdominal hysterectomy on October 28. Path report has indicated cyst was of low malignant potential, endometreoid arising from borderline tumor.I guess if you have to get ovarian, this one is the least "lethal".
Next Tuesday, december 16, I will have staging surgery. They will take the lymph nodes, do some biopsies, and some snooping around in the nooks and crannies.
So now I guess I will go back to the ovarian board. I had started there two years ago because I was then a caregiver for my Mom who had stage IV ovarian. It was two years ago this week tht she passed away from the disease.
I will check in on you guys from time to time, and I wanted to say thanks for all the help and encouragement you gave me all this year. Take care everyone...hugs, Cindy
