Hi Everybody,
For those of you who have experienced the Erbitux rash and are no longer on Eribitux, how long did it take for the rash to completely go away? I stopped taking Erbitux 6-1/2 weeks ago. Prior to stopping it, I had been on it at 50% strength for 4 weeks and was also on topical and oral antibiotics for the acne/pustule part of the rash. That part of it (thank goodness) has been gone for a while now, but the red mottled, speckly rash is still present on my face and neck. How long has it taken to go completely away in some of you?
I use makeup to cover it, but I'd rather not have to wear put it on everyday, as I wasn't in the habit of wearing it before. I know the sun can make it worse, so I try to stay out of the sun. My oncologist said he has a patient who got a rash from some other medication (not Erbitux) and she still had the rash a year later. I hope and pray this won't do the same thing! (especially since the Erbitux never helped me- I stopped it after testing postive for the k-ras mutation).
