Neulasta...
Hi Shannon,
I have had four Neulasta injections. One after each of my A/C infusions.
The only time that it really bothered me was the first time. Then I had horrible aching from my hips, down to my ankles. I took XS Tylenol and after a couple of days, the aching faded away.
The first time was the only time that I had a problem though. My onc told me that the first time is usually the worst. So hopefully, if you need any more, you won't suffer so much. Of course, everyone is different, but I will be praying that from here on out, you will be fine.

I had some aching from the neulasta shots, but the trade off was that the chemo (cytoxin/adriomycin) didn't wipe me out totally. I took Aleve for the aches and it worked for me. Check with your oncologist to see what they recommend. It only lasts a couple of days so is still worth it.0 -
Neulasta and anti-histamines
Yes. Usually, once you start having to take cell boosters, you will need to continue them until the end of your chemotherapy.
I didn't have any problems on neulasta; however, my normal medicine includes a daily anti-histamine for my allergies.
Hopefully, when your Claratin kicks in, you will get some relief. (Keep taking it.)
I am so sorry that you are miserable.
My sympathies.

I had Neulasta shots
I had Neulasta shots following three out of four rounds of C/T. First chemo caused my WBC to go dangerously low and I had a fever at the same time so I was admitted to the hospital for 3 days. Neulasta was started after treatment #2 and was given 24 hours after chemo. Fever and bone aches were explained as side effects; bone aches indicating that Neulasta was probably working. Side effects lasted for 6 days. The next time Onc suggested Aleve or Extra Strenght Tylenol. ES Tylenol 500 mg x 2 tablets was taken at the time of the shot and every 4 to 6 hours and it helped a great deal following the next couple of shots. Good luck!0 -

My white blood count really went low the time I didn't have neulasta. I felt crappy!
I remember when it was new-my first chemo and neulasta shot- I liked the way the bone ache from the neulasta cut through the chemo naseau and fog.0
