Good luck with everything!
I had breast cancer last year at 25 and it can be scary. This seems like a great place to get advice. There is another website I go to very often, youngsurvival.org and it is extrememly helpful and resourceful as well.
Many people on there frequent both of the sites since there is such great advice and resource on both places. Come visit us if you like0 -
Ivana,
Best of luck with
Ivana,
Best of luck with surgery and may your reconstruction be as 'immediate' as possible.
And more importantly, may much happyness come your way.
Best Wishes,

Hi Ivana,
Welcome! Do you have a surgery date planned? Wishing you all the best as you make your reconstruction decisions! It's a long road, but it's nice to have the support of these women who have been there!
All the best,
Tina
Hello Tina,
I am thinking to have surgery beginning of the next year.
I want to meet women who did this kind of surgery, I am little scare. This is huge decision but if I have to go through second mastectomy I think to get it done the same time. I am single mother and I will have to go back to work to pay bills like all of us and this is my big concern also.
Thank You for Your support.

If you go to
Hi Ivana,
If you go to http://www.youngsurvival.org, then Reconstructive Surgery you will find a photo gallery of various types of reconstruction on women of varying ages and sizes. I found seeing these photos dispelled some of my more shallow fears.
I tend to forget I do not have breasts until I go to bed. If you are a stomach sleeper be prepared for some adjustments, though nothing a few good pillows cant fix.
What type of reconstruction are you having? Have you decided? This will influence your recovery time somewhat.
Yes, getting recon done in the winter is a good decision. You will at least get to go braless this summer if you so choose. One of the only 'perks' so definitely take advantage!

Hello,
Thank You for reply. This beginning my "reconstruction journey". Before first mastectomy, my plastic surgeon educated me about type reconstructions. But last minute I have change my mind and I did only mastectomy. Now I need to get his advice again since I need to do second mastectomy. I hope next summer I will have some boobs )

Its quite the process . I am doing the saline implants. Right after my mastectomys I had the temps put in to stretch the skin when it gets stretched enough I will go back to surgery to have the real saline ones put in. For now it takes many trips to the doctor to have water put in to stretch them which also makes it feel like your muscles across your chest are stretching from one side to the other real sore . I know what you mean about having breast.Good Luck. I am here for ya..0
