Neupogen or Neulasta
I know Neupogen is given daily for 8-10 days after chemo WHILE Neulasta is only once after chemo after each treatment.
So why anyone want to inject 8 times vs. 1 time ?????
I am so confused and lost.
My mother's doctor has recommended neupogen so I was wondering if I should talk to her about neulasta.
Thanks again.

Neuporgen in my time
This drug treatment was very new when I was on it after each chemo treatment. Unfortunately I had a blood infection and didn't know what to do when this drug came up as option. I don't know if there is difference in what area of body the drug affects. I do know Neuporgen is to spern the bone marrow into production since this has been supressed and white cell count affected. I ended up only needed two shots since I was very sensative to everything they did to me and side effects were the issue. I didn't have any more problems with low to no white cell count after getting on the drug second chemo in to my 6 round treatment coarse.
I hope that this helps a bit and be sure you ask all the questions you have.
Hope your mother is coping with all she has to face and knowing your by her side must be such a relief.
Be good to yourself always

They are both basically the same, the delivery is different. My rectal cancer was my first, and I was given Neupogen. 4 shots, 4 days in a row. A sore arm was my only side effect. Neulasta was on board for my breast cancer. I had more side effects, flu-like symptoms, but it was more convenient because it is a one-dose thing.
Both worked, btw, and ramped up my white cells, so I only missed one treatment by one week for white cell count levels. (These are your infection fighter cells...if they get too low, treatment will stop because there is great risk to the patient).
Hugs, Kathi0
