Hi Bonnie,
Nice to hear that your numbers held! I hope you're able to have your chemo this week. Will it be postponed for long if you don't?

I saw the Doc today and the carbo has been stopped, my platelets continue to drop and my bonemarrow just isn't recovering like it should. He is trying to see what he has that might help and has to get medicare approval. Unfortunately the few things left for me to try are not FDA approved and so they won't cover them. Minnesota isn't good about approving things that aren't. Anyway he said he would be getting back to me within the next couple weeks to let me know where we are at.
Alot more than that happening, but right now I am exhausted and not ready to talk about it all. Thank you all for being so supportive, it means so much to me. Hugs N Prayers Bonnie0 -

Hi Bonnie,
So how did your appointment go? And how low are your numbers? I am on my 4th day of Hexalen. A little nausea, no premeds with these pills like with carbo/taxol.
Keeping you in my prayers.
Love,
Libby
Well, guess I should have read the rest and would have realized you wrote today (duh, chemo brain). Anyways, I pray strength for you and lots of good rest.0 -

Hang in there Bonnie. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Think of Minnesota insurance like Minnesota weather. Sometimes it's great, ten minutes later you get a blizzard, an hour later it could be nice again! Take care.

I know you are disappointed with the sluggish bone marrow and not being able to get that dose of carbo this week. Isn't it funny how we fight to get that dose of chemo in spite of the side effects when you think about it? Joe and I will be doubling our prayers for you this weekend. At least the CA125 is holding from the last dose. That is a good sign. (((Hugs and prayers)))) Saundra0 -

Hello, Bonnie. Like everyone else, I am so happy to hear that your number is holding. I'm sorry that your blood numbers prevent you from having the Carbo this week, but there is always next week, right? I hope you have a very nice week-end. With love, prayers, and lots of hugs, MM0 -

Hi MM,
There is no next week for the carbo, no more carbo that is what the Dr told us. Next week I will get labs again to see what my blood is doing. I am hoping the platelets don't drop more and my bonemarrow is finally working a bit on its own. I am tired of the weekly shots for hemoglobin(grateful they have such a thing) but tired of getting them. I think if I am low still I will ask to wait a week to see what happens without the shots.
Now please post what is happening for you, let us know what the Dr decided and how you are doing.

Bonnie,
I'm so sorry you are having so many difficulties with your bone marrow. I'm glad your CA125 is holding, but you must be anxious to do something besides waiting and getting shots. I hope your doctor can find a way around the Medicare obstacles. We are all praying for you - you have been such a hero and inspiration to us. Your indomitable spirit will find a way to get better! Sending hugs, prayers, and love,

Dearest Bonnie - I can hear the despair in your email and really hope that you get strength from all of the love and prayers that are sent your way from the ladies on the board. You are such a source of inspiration and so full of knowledge and idea's and hope for everyone else. I wish there was something we could offer as the "thing" that would work.
I know you will write when you are feeling able to about the other things that are going on. Hang in there friend. We are all pulling for you.
Hugs to you...........

Hello, Bonnie.
I hope you are feeling better today. Has your doctor thrown out the names of other chemo's he has in mind? About me, won't know until Wednesday afternoon what the doctor has planned for me. I'm guessing it will be the Topotecan. Here's looking forward to hearing that your blood counts are up next week!!!!Lots of hugs, MM0 -

if you doctor feels something would be good to try that isn,t covered could your doc or you or even american cancer society on your behalf go straight to the drug co and see if they would be willing to donate? I don,t know if that type of thing happens or not but seems like it would be worth a try. I'm glad your #'s are holding and I hope you are feeling better. praying for you Laura0
