as always hello ladies,
today my sis went in for her chemo. i picked her up 9am sharp and went to the hospital to get rd 2. on the way there we laughed about a scene on the radio and she seemed so good. as we were stepping out car she said Ray lets get ready to rumbleeeeeee and we laughed some more.It was such a special mini moment. we got into waiting room and all was well. she went to get her evaul before chemo and they said her pressure was low. i always thought low was good wasnt it the high thats the problem. So they are admitting her into hospital to watch the chemo and she will be discharged tomorrow. My sister said just build me a kitchen in here and just tell me to live her. we all started laughing. she has a sense of humor. Im feeling real good not worrying to much she seems fine. the doctor said since my sis was dx in April and waited so long for chemo they have to take extra measures on her especially since the numbers have not made any changes since administered but he thinks she fine not to worry. for the first time through this ordeal im not... Chemo went fine she came out a lil shaky saying the room was spinining but other than that where is my kitchen lol. she is a real something but she is sleeping now.......

THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD UPDATE!
Sometimes, after you get past the first or second chemo, some people can mellow out a little. It's the unknown that seems to scare us the most. And once the first couple of chemos are out of the way, you at least know what to expect and don't have as much anxiety.
Chemo can lower the blood pressure, as it did mine. My pressure is low anyway (average 106/65). Chemo brought it down sometimes to 85/70 - YIKES! I didn't feel so good then. Had to nibble on some salty food, maybe drink a caffienated beverage, and walked around the house (very slowly, and holding on to something) till that lightheadedness went away and the blood pressure came up. It takes time, but those things helped a lot to get me back to somewhat normal. Hope your sis's doesn't get too low.
Well, so glad you both could find something to laugh about. If it were me and my sister, we be cackling the whole time. We're always laughing. It helps tons.

Lots of Laughs
Ditto to the other posts. Laughter comes with experience and learning to treat this disease like any other chronic one. When it is new it is so shocking but you learn to see your blessing and lots of jokes make it go easier. You are progressing really well, caregiver. Does everyone knowing make things easier?
