edited March 2014 in Breast Cancer #1
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in November 2007 Had Bi-lateral Mascectomy in December' 2007 was found in (2) lymph nodes stage II. March' 08 started Chemo Treatments Every Friday for 6Months (24 sessions total) Did a CT Scan of Chest 09/03/08 & found the Cancer Had Matastisized into both Lungs. Now my Doctor is telling me Stage 4 Terminal Breast Cancer!! I started Hormone Therapy on 09/19/08 with Zoladex Hormones. I only had B/C in one breast so, I thought by doing Bi-Lateral Mascectomy I wouldn't have to go through this again in my life. I am 36years old & in shock that I am now been told maybe 3-5years to live depending on if Hormone Therapy will work for me? Anyone else going through the same situation? Any suggestions?

    Cancer treatment
Do you have a Cancer Care Center near you? It would be good to go there and get a second opinion. You may get better results there - worth checking out.

Sorry you have to be here - but this is the best place to get the support you need. Keep us posted

    Hello Evette,

In 1997 I was diagnoised with breast cancer with positive node involvement (stage 2). I had a lumpectomey, 6 sessions of chemo and 6 weeks of rads. Eight months later it matastisized to the muscle in my chest and I was told I was now a stage 4. I had 18 more rounds of chemo and 10 more weeks of rads. I remained cancer free until 2007 when I found a small lump in the unaffected breast no node involvement. This time I had a masectomy and four rounds of chemo and no rads. My point is there is hope even when you are told you are a stage 4. Today I consider myself in fairly good health I just must be watchful for lumps and bumps and be cognitive of how I am feeling. If something feels off I go to the doctor. Please do look into what options in regards to therapy are out there! My best to you!
