tsh levels...

I am currently awaiting RAI treatment so I have to wait until my TSH levels are 25 or higher... Are there any ways to speed up this process or is it just a waiting game? My endocrin wanted to give me thyrogen, but radiology said not with the first scan. I am really nervous about having to go hypothyroid for this b/c I have two young boys (3 and 2 months)so I don't want to feel so tired that my 3 year old is wondering what is wrong with me...Any advice on what to do to feel good while going hypo will be much appreciated:)

    I can totally relate! I am currently in the process of going completely hypothyroid for my first scan and ablation in early November. I have four kids, 5 and under - ages 5, 3 1/2, 2, and 7 months. I also want to reassure you that's it really not as bad as it sounds for EVERYONE. So far, I have been off my meds for 3 of the 6 weeks, and I am still operating totally normally. The only symptoms I have noticed are more heart palpitations, dry, brittle hair, and forgetfulness that is odd for me. I think the positive attitude - believing it really won't be that bad and that I will have energy to live my normal life - has helped immensely.
