Implants

Has anyone had an implant after radiation? I had a mastectomy and it was followed by an infection. I am having cosmetic surgery to correct the appearance left by the infection. My mast. was 11 years ago, radiation ended 1998. My doc can use a small implant to fix it.

The easiest way to locate ...
Dear jmerel,
The easiest way to locate other CSN members with similar experiences is to type keywords (such as "breast implants," "mastectomy," "cosmetic surgery," etc.) on the search bar at the top of the home page. You can refine your search by clicking on the “Advance search” link listed underneath the search field. The major categories of content on CSN are blogs, discussion boards, personal pages, etc. For example, if you are looking for a specific posting on a discussion board, you can limit your search to discussion boards only by clicking on the "discussion" and "advanced search" button at the bottom of the "advanced search" box. Remember that you must be logged on if you want to post anything on a discussion boards, view personal pages, use the chat room, etc.
Cordially,

I am having one in December.
I am having one in December. I had to wait at least a half a year for the tissue to heal after rads. And even then, the doc. will go slow with the expanding. With 11 years behind you, it should be much easier. I did run into my first doc. who was very offputting about it. Then, I switched docs and the new one says, "no prob. We just take it easy". So, be sure to shop around for care you can trust and work with. Best wishes, love, Joyce0
