HEADING BACK
I will be heading back to join my ship in Eastern Europe tomorrow. The last two weeks have been a rollercoaster of emotions, but I wouldn't have been anywhere else in the world. I want to thank each and every one of you who held Katie in your thoughts and prayers, provided her support and encouragement, and gave her a platform to vent. It was a really tough time for her but - thank God - everything looks good right now. Of course we both continue to live under a Sword of Damacles with our genetic cancer. Knowing that you are in our court when/if that time comes is very comforting.
Like I said, my ship - the Coast Guard Cutter DALLAS - is currently in Eastern Europe. They were one of the two "US Navy ships" that Russian President Medvedev accused of providing Georgia weapons under the guise of humanitarian aid. I can tell you unequivocally that the only thing we gave the Georgians was food, water, and medical supplies!
If you're interested in seeing what the ship and I have been up to and what we'll be doing for the next 5 weeks, check out:

Thanks again, everyone! I hope to be able to keep up with the board while I'm deployed, but I wasn't able to during the first part of the trip - maybe things will slow down a little bit. Let's keep in touch!
Best regards,
SpongeBob

SEE YOU IN NOV!jams67 said:CP6
Looking forward to seeing the two of you for CP6. Did you get my note saying that we are in for any and all bus trips?
Hope the rest of your trip on Dallas is uneventful and you are back in Katie's loving arms soon.

Jo Ann -
Definitely got your note! Can't wait to see you and Don in November! It's going to be a great time and I think the winery tours will be a blast! More info as we get it settled out.
Thanks again for your great support.

Godspeed
on your return to your post, and a huge sigh of relief for Katie and you. You must still be catching your breath after this scare.
Enjoy each day and each other. Hope you can make a return trip to Boston harbor; Bob and I will be visiting our daughter abroad this November, so, again, no Palooza....someday!....
BIG HUG to you both, Judy0 -
This is one of the few times
This is one of the few times it's been good to have a misdiagnoses! Usually, on this site, a misdiagnoses goes the other way... colon cancer symptoms written off as lesser diseases. Anyway, I am very happy for you and Katie both! I'm glad you got to spend a couple of weeks with her anyway.
Be safe and well in your travels.

Good luck overseas, Bob! I was very happy to hear that Katie's scare was just that, a scare! Scares are bad enough, aren't they? The only good thing about them is the HUGE celebration afterwards!
I hope you and your mates are safe on the ship. I don't know what's going on out there, but my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you.
Many hugs,

Safe travels
SB,
Always praying for you and Katie. Hope the seas are calm for you. You are wonderful and always seem to "slap" me back to my senses when things seem out of control. Your post to my post about my mom helped so much. You are right, we are doing OK.....just sometimes need to be reminded of that. I was so happy to hear about Katie good news. Keeping you both in my prayers. I'll email soon. We have a few new additions here on the Lazy Dog Ranch. I think you'll like them. Be safe.
Love,
Val0
