Hi, I'am RJ and my dad has pancreatic & liver cancer (they stopped checking at that point! My Dad is my rock in life & my best friend even though we live miles apart. He's dealing with it with resigned acceptance, I'am not - I'am having a terrible time of it with daily emotional break downs. I would like to just be able to talk to someone that could help me deal with the grief I feel, how to handle it all. I feel such guilt that I can't be with him (I've made the trip (767 miles) twice in the past two month's), but I have a family, & a business to run - I'am so torn and just don't know what to do...Thanks..RJ

    No guilt
    R.J.,

I know how you feel. You must put the situation in God's hands. He is the ultimate Physician. Have you thought of closing the business for a few days and going out to see him. I know that is not always possible.

You're dad sounds like he is a strong spiritual man- that's where he gets his peace. It's hard not to be strong, when my dad died it was the hardest thing I had to deal with, but I know he is still looking over me.

I wish I could offer you more. I did have to get on anti-depressants for awhile. That helped. I went to a psyh. because I wanted to be sure I would be taking the right thing. Also, had to get something to sleep. But it did help.

It is a hard pill to swallow when we realize our parents will not live forever. It sounds like you had wonderful times with him and will have more.

Again, I'm sorry I can't do more. But I will add you to my prayer lists.

May God let you feel His presence,

    Barbara
