Hi Nudgie,
My dear husband is off sailing the ocean blue, somewhere off the coast of Africa and is not routinely checking in here, but I can remind you how we picked San Francisco for this year's Colon Palooza 6.
Everyone who attended Colon Palooza 5 last year voted for for the location of this year's Colon Palooza 6, and the winning city was San Francisco. The folks who have thus far signed up for this year's Palooza cannot be more excited! It promises to be a great time.
ColonPalooza 6 is actually the first Palooza on the West coast, which is wonderful for our West coast SemiColon friends, and San Francisco offers a new opportunity to meet new friends and have lots of fun, enjoy wonderful camaraderie, and celebrate life.
As you know, the locations of the Paloozas are not up to SpongeBob, although when he attends he does get a vote, just like everyone else. This is how we select the Palooza locations - for those who attend, they collectively vote on the successive Palooza's location and someone then volunteers to host the event. This year Bob and I are hosting since we are both familiar with San Francisco and love all that San Francisco has to offer our group.
If you would like to suggest a location for next year's Palooza, I encourage you to join us this year, where you will enjoy the celebration and get a vote for the next one.
Let me know if you would like more information on this year's, Colon Palooza 6 - San Francisco, November 5 - November 8.
If anyone else would like information about Colon Palooza 6, please feel free to drop us a note at colonpalooza6@yahoo.com. It will be a wonderful celebration of friendship, survivorship and life! Please join us - the more, the merrier!0 -

I, again, am sad that I won't be leaving my heart in San Francisco...sigh...But I KNOW you all will have GREAT fun (and, anyway, there is no Coyote Ugly in S.F....so no opportunity for dancing on a bar...rofl!).
Thank you both for coordinating this! What fun!!!
Hugs, Kathi0 -
Actually, there was another "western region" palooza, and that was CP-2 in Las Vegas, NV. There were actually two that "qualified" as "East Coast" and those were Halifax, Nova Scotia (doesn't get more East than that! lol) for CP-4, and Nashville, TN (who functions on Eastern Time! lol) for CP-5.usakat said:Hi Nudgie,

Anyway, just to keep things absolutely fair, perhaps we should choose the middle of America? We can have CP7 in Lebanon, Kansas, which is the geographic center of the good old US of A. Do you think they have a Cowboy Ugly in Lebanon? An Irish Bar? Hmmm....looking at the City stats, they probably have only one ugly Irish cowboy with boots older than I am....
LOL...Check it out!

Dang!!!!!
I'm gone for a while and come back to folks talking about going both ways!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you list the paloozas by time zones; here is the count:
Atlantic: 1 (Halifax CP4)
Eastern: 0
Central: 3 (Biloxi CP1, Austin CP3, Nashville CP5)
Mountain: 1 (Vegas CP2)
Pacific: 1 (San Fran CP6).
I personally would love to do the Canadian side (overlooking the falls) in Viagra Falls while the leaves are changing late September and that will probably be my vote in Nov. unless of course someone comes up with a neater venue.
