Good News - Cancer Free

Today I asked my radiation oncologist what tests or scans I would need once my radiation treatments were completed to determine if I was cancer free. I've had a lumpectomy, followed by chemo and now radiation. He looked at me with a big smile on his face. He told me that there are no specific tests for me at this time, and that based on all my data in the thick file on his desk, I am cancer free right now! WOW!

I realize that there is no cure for my type of breast cancer and that I must be hyper-vigilant for the rest of my life, but those words were the sweetest music to my ears.

Although I still have side effects from the chemo and am a little ouchy from the radiation, I FEEL GREAT! I never thought I would ever say those words again in my life. I'm so happy I just had to share my news with all of you, my sisters. So for those of you just starting on this rocky journey, please remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel. And, for those of you who carried me through all my trials and tribulations, I love you all and thank you. Hugs, Marilynn

    THANK YOU! I needed some GREAT news today. I don't usually get as down as i have been for 2 days. 2 days! You may not know the impact of your post but it has brightened my spirit once again. THANK YOU! FOR SHARING.

    I thank everyone else for their replies to your post also. When I needed support of those like me here you are. "BTB" that is music to me today.

    The good news is just as important as being able to vent and share the bad. Empathy is powerful!

    Enjoy yourself you deserve it. Rest is important too. You've just got back from being on the front lines with the enemy staring in your face.

    I am so happy for you. Hearing this news is what we all listen for and when it comes we have ever right to celebrate. Please go out and do something fun just for you. I have been having a bad week and this is music to my ears.

    I just read the good news and want to say a big "Congratulations" to you and to also praise the Lord for your life. He is an awesome God and surely He has seen you through it all.
    Well, I was diagnosed of triple negative breast cancer recently and have had a mastectomy and one sesseion of six cycles of chemo (TAC). My next chemo session is on June 13. I can't wait to complete the chemo and radiation. Please sisters pray for me as I do so for all of you and with God on our side, we will sure beat the beast.
