Thank You
Someone posted a while ago letting us know that she was dxed with hypothyroid and listed her symptoms -- fatigue, etc.
I just wanted to thank you because I've been exhausted for over four years and brought this up to my dr and asked her to test me. I've been complaining to her for six months. I get so much blood work; I have no idea why it never included this or was looked at. Turns out this is what is causing my fatigue -- underactive thyroid. It explains a lot -- weight gain I can't lose, being bone tired even after I get a good nights sleep . . . I just figured it was from going through TX, to getting pregnant to having a child that didn't sleep!
So, I start my meds tomorrow. Thanks to whomever posted this because God knows how much longer it would have taken for them to give me a DX. Sometimes I get the feeling that my docs are thinking: Oh, what's wrong with the Whiny Cancer Girl now? And finally -- validation!
Thanks so much. I can't wait to feel like me again!
Love,
Kim

Kim, it sounds funny but I am so glad to hear that there is something wrong with you! Because now that wrong can be fixed. It is truly amazing how helpful this board of communication can be. Here's to getting back to the old you fast, or to whatever you you want to be. Time to take back control.
Its also reaffirming for all us whiners that you finally got what you needed after whining. I just knew that whining works! All my love, Joyce0 -
Hi Kim:
I also was feeling very fatigued and out of breath and it turned out to be hyper thryoidism and dx as graves disease. All of this happened after my last chemo treatment which was in November and was not dx until April. You would think the drs would do this simple test as a matter of routine since sooo many women are affected by this. I am really glad that you were finally properly diagnosed. Lili0 -
Well, doesn't that just beat all??? Congrats on knowing you have something REAL, and something which can be treated! HOORAY!
I on the other hand, am too fat,out of breath and tired too...and my thyroid is perfect! Turns out I need to stop eating so much and drag my big behind off of the couch and move around a bit! LOL well, yes, I suppose that's a bona fide diagnosis too!
So glad you are on the fast track to a thinner, super energized you!
Hugs,
