Hi-
I'm new to this discussion. I'm 38 and I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer in April. I am halfway through radiation and chemo (3 weeks down) before a late summer surgery.
My question is this, my tumor is still bleeding and this seems to bother my rad.onc. who expected the bleeding to stop by now. Has anyone had a similar experience? I've been feeling optimistic, but this lack of response to the radiation has me worried. Any advice or encouragement would be appreciated.
Thanks, Amy

I've been under the impression that the stage wasn't usually determined until after surgery when the degree of spread, lymph node involvement, etc could be ascertained. How did your Dr decide on your stage 3? I also had stage 3 rectal cancer, and the tumor bled until after surgery.
