Hi, Sorry about the masses in your abdomen, I hope they are not tumors.
I had a total hysterectomy in 2002 (ovarian cancer) and I've been having follow-ups even though my markers say I'm cancer free. I asked my doctor why I needed follow-ups since I had no uterus or ovaries and he said it was in case ONE little cancerous cell had remained and perhaps attached itself to the peritoneum. A follow-up might be able to catch it at the very beginning. I don't know for how long should anybody be having follow-ups, I thought it was five years but I really don't know.
I don't know what salipingoophrectomy is. Does it have to do with the ovaries?
I wish I could give you more information. I hope those masses are benign.
