Does anyone with a permanent ileostomy have a diet of foods not to eat? I have had a perm. one since 2006 and I am in alot of pain and not sure what to do?

I do not have a permanent ileostomy but did have a temp. colostomy. My diet was never right before cancer, but have made some serious changes ever since. I drink anywhere from 74oz - 100oz of water per day. I exercise (cardio) 35 minutes for 4-5 days a week, I eat a lot more FIBER foods along with more fruits and vegs which has helped me, but each person is different.
Have you tried foods high in fiber? Drink lots of water; do some cardio like walking to get things moving.
Fiber One Bars (tastes pretty good)
Fiber One Cereals (50%-57% percent fiber) and actually tastes pretty good
Apples
Make sure you also speak with your surgeon and Onc Doc.0
