Hi everyone: I remember our friend Nanuk, who we sadly lost some months ago, put out a call to Stage IV survivors about a year ago. The response was amazing, and needless to say, inspired hope to a lot of newbies and those of us fighting the big fight to get to NED. We'd love to hear from you. Monica

Well, I recently posted that I am now 3 1/2 years NED after Stage IV. I was diagnosed when I was 31 and my birthday is in one month, I will be 38 years old. There were times when I never thought I would see this day. I feel grateful for every day I have and am so happy that I will now have the opportunity to try to have a child before I am too old! I enjoy hiking, camping, mountain climbing and skiing and do not feel any ill effects from all my cancer related treatments. So, just keep on keeping on, take care of your body/health because it is the only one you have! If you are eating bad food, stop. If you aren't exercising, start. After treatment ends it is up to you to do all you can to stay healthy.....

Monica,
I am so sorry to hear about our friend Nanuk, thank you for the posting. I very clearly remember Nanuck's post to Stage IV Survivors and I do remember posting a reply for my husband. Dennis is a Stage IV Colorectal Cancer survivor, he was diagnosed 1/06, he had chemo till 7/06 and then had a Colon Resection,Liver Resection and a permanent colostomy. After surgery he had more chemo and radiation treatments. Today Dennis is doing excellent and is NED. To all caregivers and survivors, keep the fight up, its all worth it, its not without it ups and downs (but thats ok) We are even back on the motorcycle again. And to everyone thats been there for us, thanks.
