I had my last chemo treatment in December [A/C x4 then Taxol x 12]. Now I have developed a cataract that is developing quickly. My eye Dr said that is normal for a chemo induced cataract. Anyone else out there have the same problem?

  • No, I have never heard of this. What is being done for you? Anything to prevent it in the other eye?

I was told it could happen after chemo. I have to have my eyes chkd every year. I see floating spots often.

I just got a new pair of glasses that are tinted to help with the glare. I'm going to have the cataract removed in June. Nothing was said about preventing it in the other eye.

When I read the side affects from chemo in the folder with all the info in it that I got form the oc office, it said that we can get cataracts from the chemo. Sorry to hear that you developed this, but at least it is fixable.

How right you are. Compared to all we go thru, this is a small thing. I'm having it taken care of this Summer.
