Scared about Gyn Oncologist tomorrow..
I've heard SO MANY good and bad about hysterectomy's and what one to go with or not go with. I just learned about a radical and cervical cancer runs in my family, so was thinking radical. WHO REALLY KNOWS.......
I don't want to make the doctor angry either by any knowledge I may have, because I know a lot of doctors don't want us to know anything. I mean really......If he does the surgery on me I DON'T want him angry about anything I may say.
It's like darn if you do and darn if you don't.
I just posted my web page, so you can all take a look at all the information I have about exactly what's going on with me.
Thanks for listening. Just please pray I ASK all the right stuff and ALL THE RIGHT DECISIONS are made concerning me.
THANK YOU.......... Have a Blessed Day everyone. Gotta get my mind busy with something else now.
Later my friends. :-D

How did your husband handle the news? What does he feel about the whole situation? Quite honestly, I wouldn't worry about the doctor getting angry with you. If he does, that would be a huge red flag to me. You have every right to be concerned, ask all the questions you want and NEED to until they are answered. If you have any concerns about his plan of action, you are entitled to a second opinion. With something as major as surgery, it's always a good idea.
I've always preferred to be informed, know what to expect, etc. For some people it can be overwhelming. I also believe in taking an active part in my health, not just always resting on every word the doctor says. I just don't like surprises. So, whatever suits you best. I'm sure it will all come together for you when you are there.
I am praying for strength for you for tomorrow - I'll be waiting to hear how things went.
Luv & Hugs,

My husband at first didn't react, because this has been going on and he's been hearing about it since Sept 2006. I was really hurt with his reaction after all the stress I went through keeping it from him. Then...later on he came to me and started asking how I was doing and putting his arm around me saying it'll be alright. I REFUSED to break down and cry. I knew his mind had started to work on him. SURE ENOUGH he went to bed that night and his thoughts got the best of him and he LOST IT. He was so upset that it totally stressed me out, because I hate for him to be that way. But, it passed and things have been fine since. I know with my appointment being tomorrow, tonight he'll be more attentive to me. I just want my first visit over with, because I never met the doctor and I don't know if he'll make me feel like nobody else is waiting to be seen or what. He has a website with ratings and he actually rates high in all areas including his staff.
I'll be sure to put a posting up for you all to see once I find out everything.
THANK YOU for your LOVE, PRAYERS AND SUPPORT. God Bless you a 100 fold!!!!!!!!! :-D0 -
This is a new doctor and he will probably order new tests or want to see all the results of the others. I took the film of the CT scan with me and he was able to tell me the diagnosis from that. Either positive or negative listen to what he has to say and then ask your questions. I am glad you are taking a friend with you. Have her take notes because there is a lot of information coming at you and it is easy to forget what was said and I wanted to be looking him in the eye and not looking at paper and pencil. I will be praying for you tomorrow and waiting to hear. ((Hugs)) and Prayers, Saundra0

You have a right to speak your mind with your doctor, ask any question that comes to mind and be in charge of what is going to be done to you. Bringing someone with you to all appointments is so important - you are listening to all these terms you aren't yet familiar with, hearing scary things and you won't remember a thing when you leave and then the cycle of being stressed out begins all over again. I had to make an appointment with my doctor after surgery where I could sit with her, face to face, clothes on and just talk about my concerns. I at times didn't feel as if she was "hearing" me. But the last chemo treatment came along she looked at me and said you were right, nothing is ever normal with you. I had been telling them that since day one and I felt as if they poo-poo'd me (is that a word?)lol. But we worked it out. I have always been a strong advocate that it is your body and your right to stick up for yourself - it felt great to put that to work.
Everyone will be saying a prayer for you I'm sure. Please let us know what you find out. Take good care.

I understand that you are feeling very overwhelmed right now, I remember feeling the very same way! After my appointment with my gyn/onc I had a sense of relief, my experience with my doctor was a good one, he answered all of my questions and provided me with alot of information and explained exactly what he was going to do as far as the surgery went. You need to ask your questions, that is what they are there for, and I agree with someone else who said that if the doctor does get agitated that would be a red flag, this is your health and you have every right to be asking questions and voicing any concerns. At my first visit, I took him my Ultrasound film as well as my CT film and he already had the results of my blood work by the time I got there, your doctor will probably do a pelvic exam, and a CA125 if that hasn't already been done if it has been done then he/she should have the results. The doctor will pretty much be able to determine what exactly is going on, my doctor on the other hand wasn't fully convinced that it was cancer because of the CT film but the CA125 showed otherwise, however when he opened me up he knew right away that it was cancer by the way that it looked. If it is cancer it is not a death sentence, and you will find the courage and the strength to get through it, and the bonus is we are all here for you!!! I pray for peace for you tonight to help you sleep and relax, and I pray for strength for you tomorrow with whatever the outcome is.
Keep us posted on your visit tomorrow and I am sending you a big hug tonight!!!
