I am concerned because my ca125 has gone up from 13 in Dec to 26 in Feb and now is 30. I have an active tumor in my chest wall and an infected lymph node. When I went out of remission over a year ago my ca125 did not register any higher. In the past my ca125 has not been a good indicator. Now it is going up and I am concerned. Since the end of Dec I have had a lot of arthritis and I wondering if that could be affecting my ca125. I am really having a hard time of this and would appreciate your support. thanks, eleen

Eleen, sorry to hear about your count going up. But it could just be that because of your lymph infection and the arthritis. Both of those things can secrete different things into your blood that affects the count. Can you ask your doctor, if only to ease your mind a little. I wish you better days and I send a prayer your way. Cindy

    Eleen:
I completely understand you concern. But I also agree with Cindy that your infection and arthritis can be contributing to the rise. Recently, I took Boniva, had an extremely bad reaction, and I'm convinced it caused my readings to go from 13 to 27! Since then, I've had two CA125 tests, and both came down quite a bit. Boniva is highly inflammatory, which could very well have caused the spike.
Do you get he tests monthly? My tests have always been very 'telling' to my doctor, so he does rely on them to initiate more tests if necessary. But he usually will wait one or two more tests to see if there's a consistent climb as opposed to just going up and down.
Luv and hugs to you, and don't dwell on it too much.

Eleen, I ditto what Cindy and Monika said, especially because you say the ca125 has not been a good indicator. Have it checked after the infection is cleared up and you are feelign better. Sending hugs and prayers your way. Bonnie

I agree, I think nerves or any kind of infection can cause a spike. I really believe that may be part of my problem. It is so hard to keep your nerves in check when all of this makes you nervous. I just pray right now God will give us all peace.

    Love and hugs, Jan
