Hi, I went on Lexapro this past summer. They say you should be on it for at least 6 months to a year. I was not being able to focus or sleep, or eat. I didn't have severe depression or mood swings, I just felt as if all the life in my body had been drained. I take 10 mg, a very low dose. And you won't notice any sudden changes in things. You will just generally start to feel better one day. I have not had any side effects from it at all. Good luck to you and I send a hug!! Cindy
