Goodmoring sisters,
I hope many of you were able to watch Robin Roberts walk the runway today decked out in her georgeous red, sequeined gown, and shiny bald head. She has shared much of her story with us openly, honestly, and with dignity, and today she displayed the courage all of us find dealing with this monster. I only wish that each one of us could have the opportunity to show the world how proud we are of the battle we fought, and I am sure for many of us we did so on a smaller scale. I was proud of my bald head too ladies, wore it with pride, as it told the world we are truly women with beauty on the inside, and our hair is only part of who we are. Robin is able to tell this story to America in a way most of us cannot, so I am thankful she did what she did today to honor those of us who also won this battle. It spoke for all of us, and our bravery.
Blessings to all of you,

I can only second what you've said so eloquently. She did us all proud. I also watched her video diary on her last day of chemo. It was a tremendous help to me, personally. She has my gratitude and best wishes. Thanks for sharing your feelings on this board. Hug, Marilynn0

How funny! I too saw Robin on the runway today, and was so happy for her! I loved her from the neck UP~ but I thought she couldn't have worn an uglier dress! LOL It was positively hideous! Maybe it was chosen so that everyone who watched it would notice what was truly gorgeous... namely Robin's glow, attitude, spirituality, confidence, bravery, and any other attribute I can think of!
I am so glad that we hear nothing of her doctor anymore~ you remember the one who said chemo/rads is a breeze?! I am not opening that can of worms again by any means. But I was thrilled to see Robin in her bald glory! Whooooo-hoooooo!
Hugs,

I think this is the woman from GMA. I will have to track the rest of the story down. Does anyone remember the scene from a tv show at a banquet where the speaker to her wig off? Turns out there were many women in the audience who took off there wigs too. How liberating and how truthful to see how many of us are out there all the time. I was not comfortable in public, even with scarves so I wore my wig. I really wanted to go bald. It is especially ironic since so many men now shave their heads to "hide" the balding! I wish i had know some of you back then, I think I would have benefited from knowing you ladies back then for yet another reason! Thanks for all you say to me. Judi0

My son in law called me last night just to check on me and talk about my upcoming chemo, my bald head, and Robin Roberts. He told me that everytime he sees a woman with her bald head,or her scarf, turban, etc., he has a special warmth and love in his heart for her because he knows tht she is waging a battle with everything she has. He saw his mom do chemo several times over a period of years. He sees those bald heads as armor in the battle and badges of courage. (I'm so glad he's my son-in-law) Marilynn0

Hi there. I'm a colon cancer survivor but I do stray occassionally, over here and read what you all have to say. And..I know a couple of ladies in here, too! Chen and Newboobs! Soo hope you don't mind my comments, either.
I loved Robin Roberts, on the run way, showing her "Badge of Courage". I was so happy I was home that morning and was able to see her.
Just remember...Use all your energy for moving forward.
