I am going through the same thing right now, too. The doctors told me we should have been done with this after the first round of I131, but 2 years later and we're still chasing it. Don't know why. But it happens for a reason. My recurrence wasn't large enough to show up on any scans, but my thyroglobulin was over 15. So, now I'm on a 6 month testing cycle for observation until the tumor gets big enough to see on a scan. All I tell you is don't let it bring you down. You keep right on fighting every day. I too am post TT for Pap CA Dx 12 -2000, then positive nodes 3/ 06. I did a 2nd opinion at Mayo- Dr Hay. Ultrasounds are great for neck nodes. I highly recommend this man and his 'team'.
I understand not ALL thyCA elevated Tg, and not ALL high Tg = CA. I131 does not always work. CA is a very individual thing.
