I just need to let this gooooooooo. I was leaving to take my morning walk (730am). I noticed this PINK heap at my neighbors stoop. I looked and looked again...IT WAS MY NEIGHBOR on the ground! this poor woman! she was shivering and confused....I said, (name) are you Okay, does anything hurt? she told me her hip gave out and she fell getting her morning papers. Who knows how long she had been there, she was hidden under the stairwell, that one would not notice and it was chillly that AM too. Thank goodness her door was ajar to get in to make the 911 call. after calling 911 I called her son ..who was in TN, we're in GA, said he wouldn't be able to get there until the evening. Sooooooooo, I stayed with my neighbor until they took her in for x-rays. She ended up fracturing her hip,had surgery and is doing well, as of last night. We (hubby and I) are going to see her today. Her son did make it there and we met him and his wife. It just shows that God has plans for us each day...I usually go for my walk later in the morning! This was my very first time EVER to make a 911 call....I did stay calm, collected and even remembered the apt number!
May everyone have a Great Thanksgiving!

Every time I went with my minister friend to my infusion, we ended up with a 'good samaritan' task...one time, it was a man who had fallen off his motorized wheelchair, another time a yard care pickup truck that was spewing gas...many, many more...his wife got to the place that she knew we were up to MUCH good, at each trip!
God needed you there...that's why it was....
Congrats on the cool head...although, is it such a surprise? You are a hero already! You just saved a life...take a bow!

Wow! When you said PINK heap, I just knew someone had left a huge pile of BC support paraphenalia at your neighbors...who knew YOU would be that support???? Gosh~ they say there are no coincidences, and the fact that you took your walk at a different time than you mormally do cements that feeling for me. I am thinking of looking into those "life alerts". Don't they sound like perfect Christmas gifts????
Bless you for being there Cindie~ how fortuitous for your neighbor!
Hugs,

Funny story to tell, my friend that owns a restaurant here had a customer fall down a few stairs there, the kitchen staff yelled "Shirl call 911" a customer fell.....Shirl yelled back, WHAT'S THE NUMBER!!!!! that's the Gods truth, we laugh about it now and tease her all the time..imagine.....LOL0
