Sorry haven't been around in quite a while but have been working full time and going to school and just don't have any extra time! But I wanted to check in and say to all of you who supported me and my husband through his bout with colon cancer THANK YOU. It was 1 year ago on Halloween that he was dx and when I found this web site that night it was a god send. You all helped me calm down and gave me hope. Nov. 17 will be his anniversity of being NED since he had his surgery that day and has been clear since. Today he had his port out. Again a big THANK YOU to all of you and know that you are all in my prayers every nite.

    It will be two years since my husband was diagnosed with rectal cancer in Jan.08. His 2 year surgery anniversary is May 08. So far so good scans clear except for an infection in tumor area diagnosed with colitis from radiation. He still has pet scans every 3 months next one the end of November. Always so stressed when this time comes but try to stay positive. What stage was your husband? Mine was stage 3 so he had chemo and radiation before surgery and 6 months of chemo after surgery. But he is doing great! Keep the faith.

    Thats THREE of us on this board that were diagnosed a year ago on Halloween. (Now that's SCARY!) What's more important is the fact that we're all NED!!! THAT'S determination, positive thinking, and alot of talking to God! May He continue to bless you both!

    ....sort of like having your braces off your teeth, huh? A rite of passage, port removal...mine's been gone for about a year...had it for two, was a BIG help....DO NOT want it back!!!
