One Year Anniversary!

Yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of my diagnosis. Had quite a "scare" last Halloween when my "routine" colonoscopy revealed a Stage III sigmoid tumor. This Halloween was MUCH better than last! I got to hand out candy to all the little Trick or Treaters, and had a candle-lit dinner with my husband on the "good" china, just because I could! Had my repeat CT scan yesterday. I'm just confident that this will be alright, and that I knocked the &%#@ out of 'ol "Mr. C".
Peace, Cheryl

Congratulations and I'm sure everything will be clear on your recent CT. You have the right idea - only positive thoughts.

    Hi Cheryl,

Congratulations!! We are kindred spirits I think....Halloween was my one year anniversary of being diagnosed with a Stage IIIA sigmoid tumor as well. What a difference a year makes, wouldn't you say???? I already went through my scans and a repeat colonoscopy and all was fine with me as I am sure it will be with you as well :)

    WOWEE, Annamarie!
Mine was a IIIa tumor as well! Does this make us "Survivor Sisters"?

Fantastic news. What an inspiration and I look forward to my one year anniversary in August!!! Same thing happened to me - went for a routine colonoscopy and it revealed a Stage III tumor. I'm sure your scans will be just fine. Keep the spirit going...

    Hi Cheryl,
Congrats on the anniversary! I had my baseline colonscopy in Nov '03...2 small polyps, and, surprise, one was malignant; yes, IIIa with 1 node. I will be 4 years out from surgery this December, No Evidence of Disease, clear scans and scopes, with one scary time of questionable CT scan, with follow up PET that was negative. Like you, I am hopeful that we knocked down this beast. Continued good luck to you, and many more celebrations, good china and all! Judy
