Hi everyone. I haven't been around too much lately, but have been battling this monster for years. I was diagnosed stage 3, but moved up to stage 4. I now have mets in lungs, bones, and a new dot in my liver.
All is fine. I was on a study drug that is working well - been on it since 5/07. My only concern is that my right leg is starting to "tingle" in the quad area. This sensation started when my bone mets were diagnosed about a year ago. I am VERY nervous. I am getting scanned next week. But with this new sensation I am quite scared. Please muster up all the extra prayers and good vibes to help get me through this next week until I find out what the problem is.
Thanks for listening, and always understanding. This group is tremendous!! jana

hey jana
i havent been with this rowdy crowd long, but the one constant thing is do not dwell on it. the scannes are scarey. so give yourself 10 min to worry ( set a timer) then no more for the next 20, keep buzy and think good thoughts-- or about someone eles. keep doing that to you are so buzy that that you forget to worry.
i know it sounds funny but it worked for me
good luck and lots of good vibes are being sent your way

Jana,
I'm sending a whole bunch of prayers and good vibes your way!!!! I know, the waiting is the worse. When you find yourself drifting to bad thoughts, bring yourself back. Keep telling yourself:
Life is so easy
Life is so good
All good things come to me!
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I will definitely pray for you. The stress of waiting is so hard. Let us know what you find out.
If it helps for you to know, my neuropathy seems to be creeping up my calves. Used to be just in my feet and hands. I have spinal stenosis also and maybe that is part of the problem. I started working out more and hope that will help. Has anyone else had their neuropathy continue to progress 18 mo. after chemo?

jana, i am so glad to see you writing! i have been praying and sending you good energy as you have been in my thoughts contstantly for a couple of weeks. i am in ohio on vacation and not going back home until we figure some things out with my follow up. CT scans good but pericardial and pleural effusion (right lobe). no inflammation on CBC, C-reactive protein, ESR. CEA is very low at .7 (maybe even .07, cannot remember). Really praying not mets. i have asked for a PET but my onco says fluid would give a false positive. so waiting for another echo on the 6th and then we will see.
i think about you and you give me so much strenght! love, claudia -
Sending positive vibes, prayers and good wishes your way. Please let us know the outcome of the scan. I'm certainly voting for some benign explanation. I think of you often -- I still think of us as "partners". I'm doing well these days -- finished my last round of chemo (my 3rd) in June -- more tests coming up but so far so good. Lots of love, Tara
