Decision

As the waiting game continues (my surgeon/oncologist in Dallas is on vacation this week) my oncologist thinks that it is best to go ahead and do a dose of docel on Friday since it has been four weeks since I have had a treatment just to be on the safe side of the CT. I agreed simply because I tolerate chemo so well so far. I truly feel that the liver spots are holes from the radio frequency ablation that burned them out and they have filled with fluid. I have heard from three different medical sources that the ct can't tell the difference between fluid and solid matter. Since my CA125 is 6 and has been really specific for my tumors, I think it is fluid until I know different. A PET scan would show activity but I doubt that medicare is interested in that. The ct scan showed no other spots anywhere in my abdomen! That's the latest. I will be taking docetaxel (taxotere).

Saundra, I agrree with you that the spots are just spots. But it can't hurt to do another chemo treatment, especially because you tolerate it so well as you say. About pet scans, I just had one but my Dr feels they are not so good at showing or not showing Ovarian Cancer. That is what he said to me anyway.

Anyway thanks for sharing, I'll be waiting to read you post In Remission! Prayers N Hugs BonnieRose

Here are two books that might give you some hope

My Beautiful Life- Mina Dobic-cured of ovarian cancer by macrobiotics
Recovery from Cancer- Elaine Nussbaum-cured of ovarian cancer by macrobiotics

If reading is not for you, check out youtube. Look up "Diet Saves Their Lives vol.1". There are at least 10 volumes with people telling their stories about how the Macrobiotic diet saved their lives. They include people who have recovered from the following diseases: Uterine, lymphoma (Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s), leukemia, Crohn’s disease, breast cancer, bone cancer, and more.

If all of this interests you, you can also check out these two books.
The scientific research that shows that this diet works can be found in The China Study, an amazing book by Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Thomas M. Campbell II. This book provides proof that this diet works and explains why/how it works.

The Cancer Prevention Diet- Michio Kushi- "outlines the causes and cures for cancer, [is] filled with testimonies from cancer survivors, [outlines] the different types of cancers, and [has detailed] information on menus, cooking, [and] healing tactics".
    Hope this helps

    Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know, as with all alternative and complementary treatements, be sure to talk with your doctor regarding interactions with current treatments, potential side-effects, and risks associated with foregoing conventional treatment. You can also contact the American Cancer Society's National Cancer Information Center for up to date information on complementary and alternative cancer treatment as well as information on the rare but possible spontaneous remissions that can be associated with cancer. Cancer Information Specialists can be reached 24 hours a day at 1-800-227-2345.

    Take care!

Thanks, Grace, but I have all the hope in the world. My treatments so far have been nothing short of miraculous. I had optimum results from both the 8 chemo treatments and the surgery. God has given me a stong body to take it all and let it do the job. I am joyous over the news that CT scan can't tell the difference between a fluid filled space and a solid tumor, not without hope.
