FYI & Frustrated
For your info..I watch ABC news every am, and today they talked about a new web page called abc News On Call...Breast Cancer. You can find it by going to abcnews.com, you'll see the big pink box, click on that, and it takes you there. Check it out..it is fabulous. Lots of info. As for me, I am frustrated at the moment..like that is something new for us, right? I saw my surgeon last Wed. and he sent me for an ultrasound concerned about the "knot" in the middle of the incision made to remove a cluster of calcium deposits 6mos. ago. There were no cancer cells..thank goodness. While I am hoping it is just scar tissue, the report has not come back after a week, and you all know how we get anytime we have to wait for reports. I can feel this tiny lump too, which didn't show up until 2 mos. ago, but still, we all worry don't we? This is scar #7,and on the other breast, not the one with the cancer 2 years go, so the decision has already been made that if they need to go back in for anything, they want me to just have a double mastectomy. I am sort of sitting on thin ice right now, and needed to vent to you as we all understand the waiting game. Thanks for listening. Take care ladies, and don't think for one moment that this web page at abc can do for us what we do for each other here on this network. I saw my onc for the yearly visit today, and passed this site on to a very sweet man sitting in the waiting room. He and his wife have been married for 50 years. She will be going through chemo for a full year, and he needs the support to. I hope they visit us soon. Catch ya later.

Bev...when I saw it was you who posted, I of course jumped in to see what you are frustrated about. I saw the abc info this morning too and I ditto your thoughts about it. More than that, I give a hearty HOORAH to your words about how much better this site is than anything anywhere! You are sooo right!
As far as the waiting game~ yup, it
is the nature of the beast, for sure. Wishing you good health and and GREAT test results, Bev!
See you in chat!
Hugs,

Dear Bev, we know all too well what the waiting game is like, I am waiting now too. Have this pain in my back (dr said kidneys) on anti biotics for it but didn't go away, see him later today and we go from there. We sure get onto things when they affect our health now. I am having another mastectomy Jan. I opted to have it as my prosthesis is way too heavy to wear, it's like saddling up a horse! yikes, and the other one, well who needs it! I hope your results come soon and all is well.
Thanksgiving this weekend, we have lots to be thankful for...amen0 -
Good news..for now they are going to do another ultrasound in 3 mos., as long as I don't feel any changes. YEA!! There was some kind of mixup over which breast they did...it was the right one, but the report said they did the left one..such is life. Good thing we don't have more than two of these..haha! I can't tell you how nice it was to know that I could come to this network and find support..thanks ladies. I am so sorry to hear about your news skybuf, wish I could give you a big hug right now. I saw my onc yesterday, and told him that my left leg was swelling when I am on it for very long, and he passed it off as nothing. Today the phone rang, and it was his office wanting me to go have an ultrasound done today..asap. Like what is that all about, and why wasn't this handled yesterday while I was there? I still don't understand Dr's very well, they either act like it is an emergency, or nothing at all. Well, enough for now. Take care all you wonderful sisters. I know we will be in touch again soon.
