NED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I received my scan results Friday afternoon and I am officially NED!!!! I never dreamed how great it would feel to hear those words. It's been almost exactly one year since stage 3 rectal diagnosis and I can't believe everything I went through to get to this point. I am so happy and I just might do the naked dance!!!! I wasn't supposed to get my results till Monday, but I called West Clinic and told them I was going to "freak out and have an anxiety attack" if I didn't find out before the weekend. I see my oncologist on Monday for a check up and figure out what is next. Anyway I want to thank all of you who have offered support, advice, and prayers over the past year. I don't think I could have kept my sanity otherwise.
Kiersten
PS-Sounds like Nashville was great. Hope to make it next year!!!

This is great news to hear... My father was just dx with cancer in May & this past Wednesday we found out it was stage III He went through surgery on Friday of last week & Wednesday found out he had to do the surgery all over again which he did yesterday. They really beat him up this time and I am praying this time the pathology report comes back with good news. I'm new to this site... what does NED stand for?0

NED means no evidence of disease from CT and PETscans. These were my first scans since surgery and chemo were completed. I am going to send you an email.

Kiersten,
I've followed your "journey" with regard to your treatments. I began my search here in March and it's been such a help to me.
I'm so pleased to see that you are NED, how great is that? You deserve your dance!!
I, too, have marked a milestone in my journey, I finished my treatments this past Friday and I'm so thankful it's over, maybe not forever, but for now and I need the break. I was able to work all the way through. Somedays were very difficult but I plowed through.
Now I'm looking forward to regaining the use of my legs and back again. Also, not having the chemo knockdown every other week. God has been so good to me and given me the strength and endurance to keep going! I've had many praying for me and are continuing to pray for me for success.
Again, congrats on your new status, you certainly deserve it.
