The surgeon called my hubby today at work to tell him that the MRI/CT he had on Friday confirms that the liver mets have shrunk considerably and are very small and confined to one section, so he believes surgery is a go! I can't believe it, after being told for six months it was not possible. We have an appointment on the 26th to discuss and he says that by then he'll have the surgery date. His 10th chemo treatment would be this wed, however, he told us that will be on hold now , but we are to meet with his oncologist anyway as he's already called her. For those of you facing the same thing, I just want to tell you that persistance sometimes does pay off and the power of prayer is a wonderful thing. Don't ever give up. I am so excited and at the same time apprehensive of the surgery, but I truly feel that this is his best chance at a curative option and will significantly improve his prognosis. Thank you sincerely for all your well wishes and prayers. You are all in my thoughts and prayers daily. God Bless and keep the faith.

Diane,
I am so happy for your news, I know your feeling very well. My husband diagnosed 1/5/06 and we finally had surgery 8/17/06 (complete lower resection and liver resection). Keep the chin up no matter what. We were Colorectal St IV and just celebrated 1 year NED on the motorcycle in the Smokies. God Bless
