Partner with Cervical Cancer?

Hi, looking for others who have a partner that has had or is being treated for Cervical Cancer. My girlfriend completed radiation/chemo and internal radiation for Stage I back in May, but we are still dealing with the aches, pains, and exhaustion of the treatment....let alone the emotional and intimacy toll.

    Glad you found a place to find those like yourselves. I am 10 year survivor of stage 3 breast cancer with 11 out of 21 positive nodes. I was 36 turning 37 the year I was finally diagnosed and treated for my disease. Life hasn't been easy since for me or my LIFE Partner.
    There are many friends who believe that cancer has brought us together when in fact the differences we had became front and centre. It is funny how cancer didn't change too many things in our lives including the distance and hurt. I too had a teenage son who was out of control with anger and disappointments. Now he was going to know the side of life none of us want to deal with. The Bad! I am just grateful there were no moments of denial or hiding from my fears. We just get good at NOT saying what is truly on our minds and people think we have these great attitudes. I am here to say if they only knew...
    It has been 11 years since knowing something was truly wrong with me and I am still fighting my way back. I think LIFE is just a fight with or without the Big C. I want to be on the train of life working hard to improve the quality of my life and that has taken nothing but hard work on my part. I have always been an athlete but now I need to work out for me and giving me the body needed to fight off things that will come. I refuse to sit and wait for the other shoe to drop.
    Pain and fatigue are two draining things that need to be addressed. In my case it finally led to the diagnosis of several diseases that could be treated. But just not doing anything wasn't the answer and I was left to fight for 4 years till a pain specialist finally listened. My problem till then was my GP had his own preconceaved ideas that led to anti depressants rather than dealing with me as an individual. Now I no longer take all the meds and working harder something doctors thought would never happen again. Life goes on and I had to find things to help myself since doctors could only do so much
