My mom was diagnosed in november of 06 with small cell lung cancer,it was also found in her hip, liver and spine, she went through months of chemo. She then told in june that the chemo she was doing for the lung cancer had caused leukemia. She went into the hospital for a month to do continous chemo for that month, while she was in there she developed grandmal seizures and further testing determined that the original lung cancer had spread to her brain. They said that if you took 30 to 40 bb's and sprinkled it on her brain that is what the cancer was like. My mother who was 49 decided to come home, they gave her 2wks to live but my mom fought two more weeks and passed away. Since the begining of the cancer i helped my father and siblings take care of her. I cant begin to describe the emptiness that i feel now that she is gone, i miss her every second.

  • Hello fourlilangles. I am so sorry about your mother. I lost my mother to a leukemia-like blood disease. It is a hard thing.
I thought perhaps you would like to join us in the csn chat rooms (if you have not already). They are open 24/7 and you can find some of the most wonderful people there who can relate to your situation.
God bless you and your family.

I'm sad to hear about your mom. She sounds like she was a wonderful woman!

Realize she is not gone, she has just moved...from in front of your eyes, into your heart...where she will live on forever.

I lost my daughter in January...I still miss her, but I am glad she is no longer suffering...

    Hugs, Kathi

    Hello fourlilangels,

I lost my mom on April 22nd. she was diagnosed with small cell cancer in October '06. She was told it was a "slow growing cancer" but not in her body. It was like a bomb went off. It was unstoppable, but didn't spread outside of her lungs. We went through so many surgeries, procedures, chemos that didn't work, and all this time it kept growing.

I feel like an amputee. My mom was only 67 very healthy and this came out of nowhere. I feel your pain. I, too miss my mom every second. The emptiness is so profound. She practically lived with us. We spoke about 6-7x a day. They say it gets better with time.

You are in my thoughts. You are not alone.
    My thoughts are with you.

I lost my mom to gastric cancer which spread to the liver. She was diagnosed on February 19, 2007. Because my dad still had to work I was her primary care giver. The doctors gave her 30%, but I always had hope. I too have and empty feeling.
I am a stay at home mom of 3. I feel everyone has moved on. All my kids are now in school especially my son, so I feel it even more. I am sorry for your loss, but I know how you feel. It is comforting to know that I am not the only one feeling like this. I want her back and I feel like it is not fair. You are not alone. Take Care
