Greetings all...It's been over 1 year since I heard my doc say "remission". For those of you who are new, here's my story. In Dec 04, I was diagnosed w/ crc and liver mets. Started my chemo (folfox) in January 2005. After 3 doses, the 3 spots on my liver seemingly disappeared and the primary tumor shrank about 15%. In May of 05, I had resection surgery to remove the primary tumor. In Aug of 05 I went through 4wks of Radiation and finished my chemo and at that point I was in remission. I in Oct 2005, I had a ct and it came up clear and in Feb 06, I had a pet scan and one of the tumors in my liver reappeared. In May of 2006, I had open liver surgery to cryo my 4cm tumor. Since, then I have been getting checked out every 3mos and as of last week I'm still in remission.
I just want everyone to know that there is hope. Hang in there!!!
