Checking In

Hello To All Of You. I have not posted in awhile because I moved. The apartment house that Mom and I lived in was sold and I had 30 days to empty a house full of 33 years of memories. But with a back brace and God's strength I did it. I just hooked up my computer and decided to check in on all of you. I see so many new names. But you are all making such progress. And it is so encouraging to read your posts. As things are settling down with me, the reality of Mom not being here is breaking my heart wide open again. I think of all that she went through just to live. The chances she took with the lengthy surgery. All the physical therapy. And she made it through. All of it. I sit here and I cannot believe all the things that I learned and saw in our journey of 1 1/2 years. I think you all are an amazing group of women. You encourage each other and share what you have learned freely. I have learned so much from you. I wish you all continued healing and send prayers and hugs your way. I know how hard it was for my Mom to get up and face some days. I can only imagine how hard it is for most of you with your families. I wish you all a smile today. I will still keep checking in on you. Love to ALL of you...Cindy

Cindy:
Thank you so much for visiting again, and your kind words. And thank you for sharing the inspiring strength that your Mom was for you. I feel your loss, as it was not much more than 2 years ago that I lost my Mom to colon cancer. From the time of diagnosis to the time of her death was only 4 short months. But during that time she remained strong, didn't complain, and fought as hard as she could with every obstacle that came her way. She was an inspration to me, but she had told me that it was I who enabled her to face her cancer with all that she had. After my first experience with ovarian, she had always told me, "If you can do it, I can do it". So, as you can see, we all help eachother. Whether you are a patient, caregiver, family memeber, we all experience the disease is some shape or form. I am glad that I was able to be my Mom's caregiver, and happy that you were also. While it is not the most pleasant thing in the world to endure, it does make us stronger, more knowledgeable, and more compassionate.
Come back and visit often. I wish you blessings in your new home. Prayers & Hugs!!
