As some of you may recall, our much loved german shepard died a week ago suddenly after living great life of 11 years. We were heartbroken.Especially my husband as she was devoted to him. We went looking for a fishing boat last weekend at my urging, as it's something he's been dreaming of for a long time and I figured, why the hell not. It's been a rough year and he deserves it. Well, to make a long story short, one place we stopped had 6 week old german shepard puppies for sale that day and lo & behold,(you can't "just look" at puppies") we have a new member of our family again, Vegas. ( She's a big gamble for us (lol) up all nite and my hubby has always wanted to go to Vegas.) Man , am I exhausted . this was much easier a decade ago, but I'd forgotton how much fun it can be when a puppy discovers a dandelion and a butterfly for the first time. ( lol) The boats being delivered today. The puppy was "my" present.... Now If only I'd seen that diamond ring "I'd " been dreaming of first ROFL. yeah right. Have a great weekend all. God Bless and Keep the faith. You are always in my prayers.

How happy I am for you! Yes.......puppies ARE a lot of work, but well worth the effort. Besides having a positive impact on our health, who could resist those warm "poochie smoochies", or the "total butt wag" when we come home, or get up in the morning? God bless you, and the wonderful new addition to your family! I'm SOOOOO happy for you!

The puppy has 'sparkle' in it's eyes..lol!
Good for you with doing something "why the hell not"!!!!! We warriors are so focused on the battle, we LOVE to be destracted occasionally with something not related!!! R and R as it were!
We had a litter of kittens (5) born in our yard a year before my cancer journey started....I get CAT scans everyday....5 years later!!!

First of all I am so sorry for the loss of your shepard. I know they are very much a part of the family. Congratulations, though on your new puppy. I know she will be loved and spoiled rotten. There is nothing better than German Shepards....We have 3 (Barrister, Scarlet, and Annabelle). They have made my recovery a bit easier. It's amazing how they know that I feel bad when I have chemo or was recovering from surgery. They are so gentle and are always at my feet.

Hi Diane -
So glad you found a new pup. Vegas is a great name! Puppies are a lot of work, but GSD's are such great dogs. I know you are sad about the loss of your older dog, but I am sure this puppy will be a great addition.

Diane,
GREAT story! I got our Great Pyrenees, Mojo, after my surgery. He was great in treatment! lol Then, just when the dust settled on getting him trained, I got "bit by the puppy bug" again, and we got our Lhasa Apso, Riley. Keeping up with them and 3 kids makes battling cancer a walk in the park!
Give Vegas a huge hug from me! (Great name! One of my personal most favorite places in the world!)
