Makes me think

Lizper,
I think when you have optimal debulking surgery the size of remaining disease is usually under 1 cm. It has nothing to do with the stage of ovca.I have read there is sub-optimal debulking that the size left is under 2 cm, and then there optimal debulking , size is under 1 cm. Most gyn/onc do the otptimal debulking. I had a second look surgery, and my onc/gyn took all the suspicious areas out including whole lymph nodes which had metastic disease remaining. he then followed it with 6 cycles of Doxil, this gave me 13 months of remission time. Plus I felt pretty good while on Doxil (you have 1 tx. per month)So I consider that I actually had 19 months of feeling good remission time!!!! I'm praying for your Mom, and I know she'll be fighting hard, so she can spend alot of time with that sweet grandson!!!!! (((Hugz)))..Joanne0 -
Tks Joanne again for sharing info. I really am looking forward for her to have at least a 13 month remission as yours (hopefully longer). It just worries me that she needs to go trough surgery again at her age (3rd time)..last time was May 06. But I have faith in the Lord. Take care. LIZfloridajo said:Lizper,
