I'm presuming that he had a polyp which showed this. The "moderate differentiation" refers to the organization of the inside of the cells. It goes from "highly" or more organized, "moderate"- somewhat organized, to "poorly" or poorly organized. The more organized the cell types then usually the better. The Haggitt level 4 means that the carcinoma has invaded the base of the polyp. It is basically the same as what would be considered Stage 1 colon cancer. There is less chance that there has been any spread. It has a good chance for cure.
