Hi Survivors,
Well I am just out of the hospital. Finished treatment 5 of Taxol, (were to be 12), and woke with such pain in my upper abdomen I thought death a favor. Turns out I had pancreatitis, liver function blocked, and gall bladder irritation. Spent 5 days in hospital and functions are coming back. Still get some pain, but nothing like original attack. They tell me it was Taxol related and very dangerous, so there will be no more chemo, just 5 weeks of radiation. I thought I was doing so well with no side effects from AC and the first 5 weeks of Taxol, or so I thought. Must say that my spirit is a bit down. Feeling a bit scared of what is next. Praying a lot. Anyone else have this side effect???
Blessings to all

Toni,
Sorry for your troubles. While I didn't have trouble with Taxol, I do understand the anxiety at having to stop a treatment before it was done. My problem was with Herceptin (I am HER 2+). I only got half of the treatments done due to it causing congestive heart failure almost.... It worried me for awhile that I didn't manage to finish them... but then I decided that it was in the Makers plan... So that I might as well accept it and get on with life. That was about 6 months ago. I am healthy...I have my hair and energy back and all is good.... So try to pick your spirit back off the floor and know that radiation will probably be a breeze for you.
Take Care... God Bless....

Hi Toni,
I just had a severe allergic reaction to the Benadryl that they give with the Taxol and had to have my treatment delayed. This worried me so much until I read that the added benefit of Taxol after AC is really very small. I still have tingling in the toes from the Taxol.
Hugs.
Lesley
