Hi everyone. I managed to get thru the petscan yseterday. I was at the hospital for 4 hours. I was totally wiped out. Those compression fractures of the spine are grueling. Not being able to get around is horrible. I will have this kyphoplasty done on tuesday. It is supposed to be most effective but does have its complications. Ofcourse I always focus on the negative side. But it also has good feedback. I saw my primary care Dr. yesterday who I asked why wasn't the osteoporosis addressed from 2 yrs ago. Apparently there is this IV treatment once a year for people with severe osteoporosis. Still awaiting results of needle guided biopsy of L1 done last week. Now awaiting reuslts of petscan for enlarged multiple
lymph nodes. Still a wreck over this. Trying to calm down. For the first time when I went for the pet/catscan combined I had to drink the barium. Is this a new procedure. From the many petscans I had I never had to drink anything?? Your friend Fran

Did you have a PET/CT combined? I believe that when I had the combined scan I had to dring some barium. It's been so long though that I can't really remember. Now I just have CT scans and definitely have to dring the "Yummy Orange Drink."
Great to hear you got through it though. Now is the other hard part in having to wait for the results. Too bad you didn't get them same day. Do you have to wait all weekend?
