want so much to hope

Have not posted much. Husband diag. 11/05 with tumor directly below liver and a large liver met. Has been on chemo (folfurri + avastin for 9 mos and now erbitux for 1.5 mos)Disease is stabilized, for which we are so grateful, but have been fearful of asking for long term outcome...doc says she just doesn't know how tumors will respond/or shrink with Erbitux and folfurri. My question is: has anyone out there been on chemo longer than 1 year and had surgery for colon and liver mets? will we just keep going until nothing works? We want to hope for the surgery but are we not being realistic? Okay, just felt so down today. Take care everyone.
