Well ladies-- I made it! We survived the month of recuperation at my sister's without anyone killing anybody and arrived at our new home in Chapin, SC Tuesday night-1 month after I left the hospital after my mastectomy. I'm surrounded by boxes, have no idea where about 70 % of our stuff really is but I do know that this must have been where the good Lord wanted me to battle the beast. No worries about trecking to the Dr in a foot of snow. I did that once with my husband and it was not pretty
Monday is my birthday-- I'm convinced another one of many to come.
I meet my oncologist a week from today and am making my list of questions (and checking it twice -- hey the Christmas decoration are already up the the stores, so I can make like Santa) How can I avoid the post Chemo side effects, when should I have my hairdresser in NJ send my wig the standard stuff I guess.
Thanks to all of you who told me this time would come. Your faith gave me faith. Now , on to the next step

Kathy-- now of SC!

Welcome to South Carolina. You came on a beautiful week. While it is a little cool for shorts it is wonderfully warm weather still. I am glad that you have made it here and know that things will continue to go well for you. Take your time unpacking...

Have a great birthday on Monday!!!

    Hi Kathy,

So glad to hear from you and to know you're over the first month. I've been thinking of you and wondering how things went. I hope you are feeling good about your surgery. It sounds like you're taking one thing at a time, which is good. Take your time unpacking! Keep in touch!

    Hugs to SC!

Kathy---So happy you are in the new house, all those boxes and things will practically take care of themselves(2 a day maybe). It is comforting to know that you are exactly where you're supposed to be.

Happiest of birthdays in your new life, new road to ensuring all those yet to come.

I seem to remember my hair was gone exactly 6 weeks from the 1st adriomyacin treatment, but I was having them every 3 weeks.

God bless you and keep you safe in His arms, Kathy

All the best to you in your new home and life.
Wishing the you the happiest birthday ever!
My hair started coming out after the 1st chemo treatment so I shaved it off! Ask for your wig so you'll have it!. Don't overdo unpacking the boxes.
