Temodar

Hi,
My son was on Temodar. It worked very, very well. But since his tumor was so rare (ONLY THE 8TH IN THE COUNTRY), his tumor came back after a year. BUT, it did shrink all the other tumors he had through out his body. His doctor told us that if you have a BT then it stays in the head & does not matastize (sp) my son's started else where & went to the brain. He had 2 years where he was pain free & tumor free until the damn thing came back within 6 weeks! =( =( fell free to email me koolwithak02@verizon.net0 -
I just finished my last round of chemo with Temodar. I also took Kytril with it to avoid the side effects of the Temodar. What were your questions about it?0

My MRI's have remained clean for 13 months I continue to pray that they remain clear and this ugly monster never comes back in my head.

Hi.gdhage said:My husband started on Temodar today. Have you had any side effects from the chemo, if so how are you dealing with them?
This is going to sound really naive, but is Temodar a type of chemo?
My Dad has had 2 small brain mets removed and has had whole brain radiation. We're with the leading hospital in cancer treatment, but they have told us that chemo doesn't really work on the brain.
Anyway, i'd appreciate your feedback.

same here. trusting in God that tumor will never come back. cancer survivor/astrocytoma brain tumor 1999 class 2/had gammaknife radiation/tumor went to almost class 4 july 07 and removed july 07,radiaton & temodar as follow-up. developed bad rash after taking temodar for 1 month, had to stop temodar. doctor said hopefully I had enough in my brain for the cancer to stay gone. I feel like God gave me another chance to live and this tumor is not going to kill me. God heals!smystied said:So far the temodar has worked wonders.
