How long does it normally take to start working once you start drinking the stuff for a colonoscopy prep?

    As I recall (and will find out once again on sunday) it usually starts working after the first glass for me. Maybe going into the second glass, but typically right away.

    I have had 4 glasses and it has been just over an hour and nothing! I am miserable. I feel like I am going to throw up so I am trying to hold off drinking another glass just in case I do throw all of it up. I also had to take 4 pills at 3 and even with that nothing! Pray it will start soon because this is just awful.

    once it starts, you'll hope it stops ..........my experience is that nothing happened for about an hour, but then all hell lets loose -- -- head for the bathroom

    Maybe you should call a doctor on call in the clinic. This is worrysome because if it is not going to work you need something else or your intestines will not clean and they will not be able to do it tomorrow. Call them, quick.

    It usually took two to three hours for it to work for me. Keep going and spread the glasses out to every 15 minutes instead of ten. I've done it 6 times and that has always worked very well. Not pleasant, but you'll make it.
