WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Canada!!!! I have only been here 32 hours and feel like a princess. Being a southern girl with the usual accent is well recieved up here AND they don't think I am ignorant.

Last nite after dinner while Lisa Rose's husband was working, she took me to get dessert at their favorite bar and grill 2 miles away. The owners of the place were there and heard about our cancer stories and had to make a few toasts. It was amazing, I was floored at the genuine hospitality. I had never been to Canada and had no idea what to expect. When the owners of the bar and their friends were getting ready to leave, they did one last toast and broke out in the US national anthem. I have to tell you all, I was speechless. They knew the words to mine and the only ones I knew of theres was "Oh Canada". I fell a little ashamed for that. They also know as much or more about our country then most Americans I know.

Today, we set off to site see and traveled down to Emily's Bay of Fundy. We followed the "Chocolate River" which has a very appropriate name. A river with so much silt it is chocolate colored and the scenery along was beautiful. It helped that we had a record high temp of 70 degrees with all the great deep blues skies that go with this Canadian Thanksgiving Day.

We had lunch at the coast and then came back to Moncton (90 miles) on some absolutely gourgeous back roads. It was some of the most beautiful and varying terrains I have ever seen. I have NEVER traveled to someplance where I feel so relaxed, calm, and comfortable. This area of Canada has a wonderful atmosphere to it.

When we got back to Moncton, Lisa Rose and Andy's very impressive and handsome son, Andrew, tried his best to teach me how to curl. LORDY, it is much harder then I ever imagined and I ended up on my butt more then not (surprise, surprise). And each time I did I got fussed at for nelting the ice and they can't curl on melted ice.

Time for bed and more adventures tomorrows.

Lisa P.

I have to add to what everyone else said. I don't think you're doing anything wrong. It is difficult for me to travel due to finances, teenagers that I'm responsible for and treatment, I just had surgery and am starting chemo again next week. Also, there's a part of me that would love to attend, but the other part is really uncomfortable traveling alone to somewhere I've never been to meet people that I don't know. That's just my stuff.

    Lisa and Lisa,

I am sitting here crying with laughter at imagining you (Lisa P.) curling on your bottom!!!! Great fun, BUT I'm also crying with sadness that I am not there. I HATE THIS DISEASE.

Have a great time....and know that my heart is there with you.

    Love you,

    Kerry

P.S. Now don't chatter too much about those of us who couldn't be there!!!!!
