Life after chemo

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to post something else good that has happened since chemo. Just a quick bio. I was dx Dec 19, 2006 with tumor out Dec. 20, 2006. Stage 3, 1node, no mets. I was on Folfox and finished 9/12 treatments due to neuropathy and other issues. Now to the good part. LOL. My other issues were the chemo was making my blood sugars wacky. I'm a type 2 diabetic so high blood sugars are not good and that was what was happening. My regular doc even said I might have to go on insulin. Now after chemo is done, I'm off the diabetic meds and just tracking my blood sugars to make sure they stay in control. Everyone cross their fingers that I won't have to go back on the meds. I lost about 30 lbs since my dx and that might be what is helping them. I'm bound and determined to loose another 30 and get off my high blood pressure meds. I wanted to post this for the newbies so they know that "Yes there is life after chemo". HUGS to everyone on this board.

Hey fellow Lisa!!!!!!!
I am so happy and proud of you!!!! 8 months of Avastin really screwed up my BP but I have worked like hell to get it under control without meds and it is working. You will do the same since type 2 diabetes is completely reversible and preventable with diet and exercise. You will beat both!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep on keeping on girlfriend!!!!!! I am so happy for you.
